Mental Wellness Education at Middle School
LTY Foundation instructor providing mental wellness education to middle school students.

Since we just reached two years operating at this point, we rely on fundraising campaigns in order to fund our mental health and wellness education programs. This involves: fundraising via social media, email and direct mail. We are also registered for National Giving Tuesday on the first Tuesday of December. We do not have any paid staff at this point. We have received several requests from schools for our mental health education programs and we need to raise addtional funding in order to meet the demand.

Mission Statement

The Lee Thompson Young Foundation is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to erasing the stigma associated with mental illness, advancing holistic health treatments and improving the lives of all those impacted. The organization disseminates information to the general public, supports research, offers treatment stipends, and sponsors youth programming that strengthens support systems and promotes well being.

Description

The Lee Thompson Young Foundation seeks to make a contribution to changing the story around mental health through its educational and awareness programming.

We envision a world in which mental illness is recognized by all as a treatable, biopsychosocial disorder and the stigma associated with it no longer exists; a world that supports and encourages wholeness and well being at every stage of life.

Approximately 1 in 5 American adults will have a mental health condition in any given year, but less than half of them will get treatment. Together we can reverse that trend by making it acceptable to talk about mental health conditions just like any other and seek help without fearing loss of friendships, relationships, employment, or damage to your reputation.

Help us raise mental health awareness thereby promoting acceptance and improving our society as a whole.
