The children will be the main focus of volunteer activity, day care or nursery attached to orphanage centers will regularly be visited by the volunteers to work with the children. Awareness is generated on health and hygiene issues of the children. Children will be provided with a healthy learning environment through interactive games and pictograph stories. Emphasis will be on the nutritional care of the children as given in the centers. The volunteers will also get involved with the children in various games and learning exercises to create interest in developing their physical health and potential.

Volunteer work activities

  • Ensuring attendance of the children placed in the center.
  • Teach alphabets, number counting, color and shapes, animal and sound etc.
  • Tips on getting dressed, manners, art and other activities children may like.
  • Create a fun, colorful, "Play Way" environment for the children through games, stories and other creative activities
  • Develop the physical health of the children through activities that utilize their bodies in games, etc.

Project requirements

  • Duration - Minimum of 2 weeks to 4 weeks (short term) and durations ranging from 4-24 weeks (long Term) onwards.
  • Program fee and registration: Please contact us.
  • Age limit - Minimum required age is 18 and maximum age depends on participant's health.
  • Qualification - Do not really need any qualification and skills, basic English communication. Do not need any previous experience.
  • Visa type - Your trips fall under the category of volunteer tourism and you will need to obtain a tourist or work visa to India.
  • Program and registration fee: covers food 3 times a day, stay, airport pick up, training and placement, 24 / 7 hours monitoring and supervision, certification and work experience letter. Your program or registration fee does not cover flight from and to, visa, health insurance, food outside or entry fee outside the project visit, internet etc.
  • Application form: At least 60 days prior to your departure with advance payment made.
  • A 10% discount, if you confirm your participation 60 days before and if you refer someone and he or she participates along withyou, you will get added discount out of total program fee and you get reimbused this discount at the end of the programs.

Description

Kenosis Foundation (KF) is a not-for-profit voluntary organization, registered (Reg # 166/2013-2014) on 29th June 2013, under Sec.7 of the Indian Trusts Act 1882. We focus on rural areas and support women and the children of widows, single moms, abuse victims, victims of physical harassment, and disadvantaged, underprivileged and the economically weaker sections of society. Our head office is located in the city of Bangalore, Karnataka State, India.

We identify poorest of the poor rural villages and work for causes ranging from child welfare, health and education, economic empowerment for women, creating employment opportunities for dropout and underprivileged youths, health and hygiene in communities and schools, After School Programs, Women Self Help Groups (SHG’s), Teach English and Computer, Bio-organiz forming, Animal healthcare, Solidwaste management, building and renovation of beneficiaries homes and schools, youth vocational skill training, organize campaign and training, summer and health camps, life skills education in rural villages and schools, Renovation of beneficiaries house and construction of toilet, women's empowerment and empowering women to start self business and income generating (IGP) activities. Kenosis is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in rural India.
