Tax preparer training is being planned for August, September and October 2016.

Be a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax preparer at The Cooperative Ministry for RSVP of the Midlands. You must be age 55 or older to qualify for RSVP.

Prepare taxes for the disadvantaged. Please help make a difference. All the training you need will be provided. Volunteers need to have basic computer skills and the ability to learn tax concepts and software. Software is simple to use! Free training and IRS certification.

Senior Resources is a non-profit organization that provides coordinated services, resources and personal choices to promote healthy, independent living through the support of staff and volunteers.

Description

Since 1967, Senior Resources, Inc. has provided a variety of choices to Columbia area seniors and families by offering established programs for home care, transportation, senior volunteers, meal delivery and more.

The senior vounteer program includes the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of the Midlands. RSVP is a volunteer program for people aged 55 years and older. Volunteers may work in a variety of locations throughout Richland, Lexington and Newberry Counties. Times, dates and locations for volunteering are very flexible and are available at more than 50 locations (volunteer stations) in the Midlands.

RSVP is sponsored by Senior Corps, a part of the federal Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
