Twice a year, Outrageous Outgrowns holds a huge consignment sale, and they donate the unsold baby clothes to Loved Twice. Last time there were enough clothes to fill 2 SUVs!
We are looking for volunteers to take some of unsold items, that can be picked up at our storage on McKee Road, and work wherever you like to remove hangers, price tags, and safety pins. Then return the clothes, hangers, and pins to our storage. If you want to do some additional work. such as separating girl clothes and boy clothes, that would help us get ready to donate to local newborns in need.
This could be a fun thing to do with children who are old enough to be careful with safety pins and scissors.

Loved Twice provides free baby clothes to underprivileged mothers for their newborns' first year of life. Since our founding in 2005, Loved Twice has thousands and thousands of essential garments of baby clothing to newborns-in-need. (An estimated $3.3M value).
Description
Loved Twice collects gentle used baby clothes and enages volunteers in creating boy and girl wardrobes-in-a-box with outfits for their first year of life. Loved Twice has collection sites at high-trafficked, popular children stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. We distribute our boxes to over 150 local hospitals, prenatal clinics, shelters, safe homes and schools in underserved locations. Many of these babies would go home with the hospital issued onesie and receiving blanket and nothing else. We rely on the generosity of community members who give of their money, time and talent to sustain and grow our organization. There is more demand than we can currently meet.
