Home Fire Preparedness Campaign Volunteer. Events occur on various weekends, usually a Saturday, 8 am - 5pm. This is an outdoor canvassing project - you will be informed when an event is in your area. Volunteer will serve as part of a home visit team that goes door to door in a specified neighborhood to check status of and install new smoke detectors in residential homes.
Qualifications: Must be able to walk and stand on feet for up to 8 hours. General Red Cross volunteer orientation provided.

Senior Resources is a non-profit organization that provides coordinated services, resources and personal choices to promote healthy, independent living through the support of staff and volunteers.
Description
Since 1967, Senior Resources, Inc. has provided a variety of choices to Columbia area seniors and families by offering established programs for home care, transportation, senior volunteers, meal delivery and more.
The senior vounteer program includes the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of the Midlands. RSVP is a volunteer program for people aged 55 years and older. Volunteers may work in a variety of locations throughout Richland, Lexington and Newberry Counties. Times, dates and locations for volunteering are very flexible and are available at more than 50 locations (volunteer stations) in the Midlands.
RSVP is sponsored by Senior Corps, a part of the federal Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
