On Saturday, 2nd of December, The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists will be providing free heart screenings (echocardiograms and ekgs) for the athletic teams of Port Richmond High School in Staten Island, to prevent Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes. On 3 May 2015, CHAD provided 100 heart screenings to athletes at Curtis High School, honouring 16 yr. old Miles Kirkland who succumbed while playing football on Labor Day 2014 from undetected heart anomalies. Out of 100 screenings, 28 followups were recommended by CHAD's supervising cardiologists.
State-of-the-art equipment, Echocardiogram and EKG machines will be provided by Philips. We also will be doing cholesterol and diabetes testing.
Please help us safeguard young hearts in the Staten Island Community on Sat., 2nd of December!
The Chad Foundation is a nonprofit charitable foundation that was formed when Chad Burtrum, collapsed and died of unknown heart problems at the age of 26 years old. To date, CHAD has provided 7,660 heart screenings in 5 states and abroad in Austria and Sweden. Our physicians have found on average a 10% anomaly rate for every 50 student athletes screened. We invite you to visit our website, www.chadfoundation.org, to introduce our work further.
Thank you in advance for your tremendous Gifts of Service in helping CHAD safeguard young hearts so they can live long, healthy Lives and make their own dreams come true!

Mission Statement
The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists' mission is two-fold: First, to raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes and Students through educational lectures, videos, and preventive "Cardiovascular Screenings to High Schools, Colleges, Athletic organizations, and the Disenfranchised," which also identify early cardio risk factors. Secondarily, our mission as artists is to create/produce/sponsor art - film, theatre, and books that celebrate American stories of all heritages and provide inspiring role models. Chad is dedicated to showing the inherent diversity of our country - the struggles, joys, and dreams of all Americans and providing a format for artists of all heritages to showcase their talents. "The Gifts of Heart and Art."
