Did you know that if a child is not reading at their grade level by the third grade, he or she is four times more likely to drop out of high school? This is especially true for many of our club members who have parents who may not speak English as a first language. Studies are showing that one-on-one reading time for just one hour a week can eliminate this likelihood. We are currently seeking 10 caring teens and adults to come and read one hour per week, each week until June 2017.
This is a great opportunity for those interested in working with elementary school aged children in the field of education or for an individual who would like to become more active in their community. Let's work together to make an impact on the life of a child today!
