Provide Pet Therapy

We are looking for all types of animals who are currently certified as a Pet Therapy animal to visit our patients on Hospice. You would never know how much these pet therapy visits impact the lives of those on hospice until you witness this first hand. There is an unspoken connection between the animal and hospice patient which is amazing to experience. These visits are very meaningful to our patients and we would love to have you join our team of volunteers. We are growing a wonderful group of volunteers who give unselfishly of themselves to make our patients feel special, loved and wanted. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families and to treat each patient as we would our own family member. Pet must be certified as a pet therapy animal by an organization who tests and certifies animals for pet therapy. You will need to provide proof that your animal has liability insurance, is up to date on vaccinations, is bathed and clean prior to visit. The owner must attend one of our volunteer training sessions and the pet is welcome to attend with you. All human volunteers are required to have a 2 step TB test (then annually one step thereafter), drug screening and criminal background check all provided and paid for by Sacred life Hospice.
