At Operation Equivalency (OE) we prepare individuals to take the new TASC exam for attainment of their HS equivalency diploma. Currently we are looking for individuals who can instruct in Science and Social Studies Monday to Thursdays 9am to Noon.

In addition, because we will soon open our TASC test site, we are in need of help processing applications, as well as proctoring entry exams for the test prep center.

About Operation Equivalency

Location:

Mission Statement

Operation Equivalency, Inc. (O.E.) is a nonprofit tax-exempt organization with a big vision and a targeted mission to empower poor and low- income youth and adults to complete their High School Equivalency (HSE); to advance their Higher Education or Vocational Training options; and, to fully reach their educational, career, and economic potential.

Description

Operation Equivalency, is a family of educators, social workers and administrative staff who are committed to working together to provide an enriched and rigorous curriculum in Literacy, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. This curriculum is aligned with the Common Core State Standards to better prepare our students to pass the NYS High School Equivalency exam (TASC).These subjects are taught cooperatively through the "point of entry model" in an inclusive environment that motivates, challenges, and addresses the individual needs of our student population. We use differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning styles of the population we serve and to ensure the acquisition of the necessary academic rigor. The program employs a combination of traditional and non-traditional methods of teaching by creating independent and guided groups where the instructors serve more as a facilitator than lecturer.
