DreamCatchers New Hampshire (DCNH) is searching for a Group Facilitator with experience working with individuals living with a disability. This is a really fun group and a fun cause because we are here to make friends, have fun and build community!
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide opportunities for young people living with a disability to catch their dreams of being part of a community and making friends.
We do this by organizing social clubs that foster friendship and engage in the community around our members.
Our Vision
A world where everyone embraces those who have different needs.
Position
We provide opportunities for adolescents 20+ with intellectual and learning disabilities to come together to engage their community while having fun. This could be inviting a Police Officer to teach the group about safety one week or making a fun craft that helps us learn more about each other. We are seeking an individual to manage or assist in managing this group which will be in either Goffstown, Hooksett, or Manchester (we will take your preference for location into account).
The leader will attend each of the 2, two-hour meetings every-other week - facilitating activities and communicating with members regarding attendance. There should be separate assistants to help, sometimes we have college volunteers to help as well.
The perfect volunteer match will be creative and fun and enjoy empowering children with disabilities (age 20 to 40). A background check will be required if not a certified teacher.
Average time commitment:
There is about an hour of prep and may be time to coordinate attendance, then the two hours, twice a month so around 3-7 hours a month.
Join this amazing group of individuals with big hearts to see the lives of those living with a disability, embraced by their communities.
