The Run to Fight Children’s Cancer shines a light on one of the most overlooked and underfunded areas of cancer. It is the largest race in Arizona dedicated solely to children’s cancer. The race will bring together an estimated 3,500 runners and walkers, along with hundreds of volunteers, spectators and childhood cancer survivors.
Now in its seventh year, the Run to Fight Children’s Cancer has raised over $450,000 for the cause. Event planners hope to raise an additional $150,000 at this year’s race and surpass the half million dollar mark for funds raised.
The event is hosted by Grand Canyon University Foundation. Proceeds will support children’s cancer research and care and will benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Cancer Network, an Arizona non-profit organization that provides financial, educational and psychosocial support to children and families dealing with childhood cancer.
