Our Memory Cafe provides social/recrational activity for individuals with mild to moderate dementia. They attend with their care partners, usually a spouse or adult child. We get together on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 2 to 4 PM.
Volunteers meet with our Memory Cafe to provide help with recreation. Often this involves music but other talents would be of interest. We would welcome therapy animals, dance activities, leading of games, etc.
This is an Alzheimer Volunteer Opportunity.

We provide recognition of the normal abilities and interests still retained by individuals who have mild to moderate dementia. We endeavor to lessen the effects of social isolation they experience.
Description
The Memory Cafe is a social and recreational program for individuals who have mild to moderate dementia and for their caregivers. It provides social and recreational activities in a relaxed normalizing atmosphere. Activites include music, games, recreation, chit chat, art, etc. Light refreshments are served. The Cafe, although part of the church's ministry, welcomes people of all faiths. It meets once a month on the third Thursday of the month during the afternoon.
