Help a senior keep his/her sidewalk and driveway clear this winter.
Volunteers provide snow shoveling assistance to seniors who are physically unable to maintain snow-free and safe pathways to their homes and can not afford to hire help.
The Volunteer Coordinator will match a senior with a volunteer who can shovel their snow. Each senior is on a city snow shovel extension list and will have 72 hours after the snow stops falling to remove the snow. This extension allows enough time for the roads to be plowed and ensures the volunteer a safe and reasonable time to get the senior's home.
Each senior needing help has been assessed by a staff case manager and deemed appropriate for the help. Each senior will have a snow shovel and/or snow blower for the volunteer to use.
