One of the most powerful ways of maintaining liver health, and preventing liver disease, is education. It is at the heart of everything the American Liver Foundation does. Many forms of liver disease are preventable, and many more are curable, if detected early.
The American Liver Foundation implements a variety of education programs about liver health and wellness, and ways to prevent, treat and live with liver disease. Our Community Education Programs are tailored for people of all ages, whether they are living with or at risk for liver disease. The Community Education Programs include two youth education programs, an adult liver wellness program and a program specific for Viral Hepatitis.
The Heartland Division is currently seeking volunteers to assist with delivering the Community Education Programs. Volunteers will be trained for each specific program, and work hand-in-hand with the Heartland staff to execute the Community Education Programs.
All volunteers must complete a webinar training.
This is an ongoing opportunity, and trained volunteers work with our staff to secure program sites in the community.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact khomer@liverfoundation.org or 216-609-3288.
