AseraCare Hospice is working on building a new volunteer opportunity which we feel can be beneficial for our terminally ill patients, the patient's family, and our volunteers. We would like to begin working with our volunteers to begin a process called Life Review.

Life review can be a very important part of bringing one's life to a close. As life ends, we want to know that we have truly been SEEN in this world, and that our life has had value and meaning. With Life Review a volunteer can lead a patient through a guided process of reflecting on their memories, recording family history and stories. This Life Review can be used to create a keepsake that the patient's family will be able to treasure years in the future. Wow! What an amazing way to remember a loved one!

This would be a great opportunity for all but may be additionally beneficial for the volunteer who may be in school pursuing a career in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Journalism, and other related areas. By taking part in this opportunity the volunteer would become increasingly comfortable interviewing a wide range of people in a compassionate way.
