Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care seeks volunteers of all ages who are kind-hearted and compassionate. We are looking specifically for individuals and organizations to participate in our engaging volunteer program. Volunteers are trained to support terminally ill individuals and their loved ones. Training will be provided to make sure each volunteer is given the instructions needed to guarantee a positive experience. Hospice Volunteers serve in their own community on a schedule that fits their availability.
Non-medical hospice volunteers may:
- Make friendly visits to the patient's home or care center
- Provide companionship and a listening ear
- Provide a break for caregivers
- Help with tasks in the office

Description
Volunteering for Hospice requires a special commitment to patients and families at a most difficult time in their lives. Hospice volunteers provide essential support in direct patient care, support for family members, office assistance, and many other areas. Volunteers embody the essence of hospice philosophy, and are essential to the successful operation of any Hospice program. Volunteers may choose the area in which they prefer to function and the hours they are willing to donate. Your care can impact a families Hospice experience.
Requirements:
* Completion of our orientation process
* A positive, compassionate attitude
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
* At least 18 years of age to work with patients
