The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula is an expanded learning time non-profit serving over 1800 K-12 students per year. Our mission is to provide low-income youth of our community with the opportunities that enable them to graduate ready to succeed in college or career.
With more than 80% of our student population being Latino/a and many coming from non-native speaking families, language can be a significant deterrent in their academic success. Use your skills in Spanish to help students break down barriers and build bridges to success through positive mentoring and support.
Your time and help can make an impact Mondays-Thursdays between the hours of 3:00-6:00pm. While hours are flexible, we require a minimum commitment of 1 hour per week for a 10 week period. Tutoring opportunities are available with students grades K-8 in the communities of East Palo Alto and Menlo Park.
If interested, please contact us at Kedwards@bgcp.org with a little background information on your skills and interest in supporting underserved youth.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide the low-income youth of our community with the opportunities they need to achieve school success
Description
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula's vision is that all young people, if they work hard, can live fulfilling lives with a good education, a fair paying job, decent housing, and the ability to raise a family. We want kids' futures to depend more upon their own actions and less upon the circumstances into which they were born.
It's an incredible time to live in Silicon Valley. Many are enjoying unprecedented levels of growth and wealth. People from all over the world are striving to move here to participate in our culture of optimism and opportunity. At the same time, this prosperity isn't being felt by all, and too many young people are growing up disconnected from what makes our community so dynamic.
