Stanislaus Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance (SEAPA) needs volunteers to help with events
SEAPA program needs volunteers to assist at our public events, faires, seminars, throughtout Stanislaus County. Volunteers will be involved in creative marketing set ups and public relations throughout the coummunity. Let's make a difference together and be part of a program that reaches out and teaches prevention of elder abuse.

Programs of Stanislaus County Include....
Homemaker Program--homemakers provide basic services with bi-weekly visits performing light housekeeping, meal preparation, assistance with errands. The services is specifocally designed to help seniors safely remain independent in their home. The service is free to qualified residents, although donations are always welcomed.
Senior Options--includes basic housekeeping, personal care, chore serviecs, fall prevention and transportation. The service can be the respote care that provides relief and time away for the care givers of frail elderly. Service is provded for a competitive hourly rate.
Representative Payee Program--assist seniors n paying bills and managing their Social Security and/or Supplemental Security Income monthly benefits.
Emergency Service Program--Utility assistance and foreclosure assistance: (when funding is available).
Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program--advocates for the rights and quality of life concerns experienced by residents of skilled nursing facilities and redidential care facilities for the elderly. Trained and certified volunteers visit regularly, investigate complaints and seek to improve the dignity and quality of life for residents.
SEAPA, the Stanislaus Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance--provides outreach and advocacy on behalf of seniors and dependent adults. Training is offered to financial institutions, health care providers, clergy, other mandated reporters and service organizations. Educational workshops aimed at helping seniors to avoid becoming a victim and helping victims receive services are held throughout the county.
Nutritution Assistance Services--CalFresh, (formely Food Stamps) is the nation's best defense against hunger and food insecurity. We provide education, assist with the application process and case management to maintain benefits. In addition to application assistance, we also offer Nutrition Education classes. SNAP-Ed encourages making healthy choicesm increase water consumption while reducing sweetened drink consumption, and increased physical activity.
Family Counseling--provides short-term counseling services, as well as mental health education and support groups as needed in the community. Assistance with referral information and prevention intervention services.
RSVP, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program--The RSVP invites adults age 55 and over to use their life experiences and skills to answer the needs of local nonprofits. RSVP is America’s largest volunteer network, where you choose where and how you want to help.
