SHINE Volunteers Are Urgently Needed

SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and your local Area Agency on Aging. Specially trained volunteers assist clients with their Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance questions by providing one-on-one counseling and information. SHINE services are free, unbiased, and confidential.

The New-to-Medicare population is surging. These clients-to-be will benefit from the informed, unbiased Medicare information that SHINE provides. We also want to reach those in need. Our award-winning, dedicated team of SHINE volunteers urgently needs more teammates.

Please Note: Training is held on several dates at the Area Agency on Aging in St. Petersburg, 9549 Koger Blvd N #100. For more information, contact Sue Samson, SHINE Program Manager. Sue.samson@aaapp.org, 727-570-9696, ext. 234.

For more information about SHINE, visit our website, where you can also complete an online volunteer application at http://www.floridashine.org/Join-the-Team.aspx.
