Do you want to help protect the ocean? Are you detailed oriented, love to plan events, and solicit donations?

Join the International Ocean Film Festival as the Gala Fundraiser Organizing Committee begins its planning and outreach efforts to raise funds for the Youth Program of the upcoming 15th Anniversary IOFF.

We're looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate event planners to help us produce an incredible Gala Fundraiser. The gala is scheduled for February 10, 2018 at The Pearl, located in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. Over 200 guests are expected as the Gala Fundraiser helps to promote the four-day film festival - the premiere U.S. ocean destination event for independent films.

Key volunteer roles include the following: soliciting live/silent auction items, vendor management, GreaterGiving online fundraising management, and assistance in program production management.

Help us plan for an unforgettable evening featuring film trailers, special guests, and ocean themed entertainment as we raise awareness to protect the ocean through the power of independent films.

Mission Statement

The mission of the International Ocean Film Festival is to be the premier global platform for ocean literacy and education through independent film.

Description

The International Ocean Film Festival (IOFF), is the first and largest film festival focused on the ocean in the world.

As a year-round ocean conservation organization the IOFF produces a multipole day in person film and lecture event that promotes awareness around the health of our oceans, and call to actions to protect it. Film programs include award winning independent films of all genres, on stage discussions with filmmakers and content experts, creating a unique public forum on the environmental, social, and cultural importance of the ocean's ecosystems, habitats and its resources. The IOFF has five main education initiatives to fulfill its mission:

  • Global Online Student Ocean Film Program
  • Free Student Ocean Film Field Trips
  • International Student Film Competition
  • International Traveling Program
  • Annual Ocean Film Festival

IOFF will be celebrating it's 21st Anniversary on April 13-14, 2024 at Cowell Theater at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture in San Francisco, CA. With an expected attendance of 3,000 people, the IOFF serves as a beacon of hope and conversation for ocean lovers of all ages.
