Job Summary: Teach ESL adult students at both beginning and intermediate levels on a weekly basis for ongoing sessions. Current session begins on September 11, 2017. Classrooms are at La Loma Village, 14154 S Denny Blvd, Litchfield Park.
Essential Functions: The volunteer must deliver beginner and intermediate lessons to non-native English speakers, on a weekly basis. He/She must employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students. They will provide classroom instruction in the areas of basic education subjects including career planning, social adjustment, and general life skills information. Instructional materials are provided.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to interact pleasantly with patrons, and work independently. Volunteer must possess strong command of the English language, good planning and organizational skills.

Description
The Glendale Public Library System serves a population of approximately a quarter million citizens, and is composed of three facilities: the Main Library 5959 W Brown Street right next to Peacock Park, the Velma Teague Branch located at 7010 N 58th Ave in the heart of Downtown Glendale, and the Foothills Branch Library, located at 19055 N. 57th Ave near Midwestern University. The Glendale Public Library system is also building the Heroes Park Library on the west side of Glendale, in the Heroes Park complex.
