Native Here Nursery
Tucked away in Tilden Park, Native Here Nursery is a beautiful place to spend some quality time!

Native Here Nursery is seen as the premier nursery in the area devoted to local native flora. Conservation and restoration are at the heart of Native Here’s mission and the nursery is dependent on community engagement from experienced and talented volunteers to operate efficiently.

Native Here grows and sells local native plants grown from collection of seeds, cuttings and spores in Alameda and Contra Costa counties’ natural areas. These plants are for use in revegetation, restoration and in gardens.

At this time we have drop-in volunteer and internship opportunities available. All volunteers and interns can obtain experience working hands-on with the plants, and we provide instruction in potting up plants, sowing seeds, grooming and pruning back plants, proper watering practices, disease management and best management practices, as well as other nursery and propagation skills!

The best times for volunteers and interns to work are from Noon-3pm on Tuesdays, 9am-Noon on Fridays, and from 10am-2pm on Saturdays. Times can be flexible if the above times do not work with your schedule, so let please let us know what your needs are and we'll see how we can fit you in! We will need help throughout the fall and winter, even with watering, especially if the rains are not consistent.
