AmeriCorps Members are needed at tutors at our community and school based sites for our agency's Spirit of Excellence AmeriCorps team. Known as the "domestic peace corps" AmeriCorps Members are placed into a community to create real, lasting change.

The AmeriCorps Spirit of Excellence program at Black Child Development Institute Greensboro, a nonprofit agency is currently recruiting for the 2018 - 2019 service year. We provide literacy support for low performing schools and to children at risk of academic failure in Guilford County. We offer an afterschool program, tutoring, and summer literacy at local schools and host sites. We would like to extend an invitation to apply.

For the 2018-2019 school year, we are recruiting members who can serve half time (900 hours) and reduced half time (675 hours). A living allowance will be awarded to all half time and reduced half time members who serve a minimum of sixteen hours biweekly. An education award will be granted to all members who successfully complete their service term of one year. Any additional questions can be directed at awalker@blackchilddevelopment.org
