Our Mission: For 50 years, Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA) has supported senior independence through meals, shelter, education and community. We deliver 130,000 nourishing meals to homebound seniors in Atlanta annually, provide home repair service, manage seven senior centers, an Adult Day Health Center focused on helping seniors and their families manage Alzheimer's and dementia, and a senior companion program. The number of seniors grows daily as does the need for our services.

Outline of Home Repaired Services: The focus of the Home Repair Services (HRS) department is to complete repairs that make a senior client’s home safe, accessible and up to code with the goal of allowing the senior to remain in their home for a long as possible. With that goal in mind the HRS department focuses primarily on minor repairs. In addition, the repairs made are focused on the living area occupied and utilized by the senior so that each senior has safe and usable access to bathroom, kitchen, living and sleeping areas.

Outline of Our Volunteer Opportunity with Senior Yard Care: Volunteers can assist several seniors with yard maintenance. Projects will begin at or around 9am. Tasks may include cutting grass, trimming trees, cutting shrubs, planting flowers/plants, and/or gutter cleaning. Large groups welcomed! Volunteers should bring gloves and insect repellent. Rakes, mowers, hedge clippers, weed eaters, and water will be provided. Yard Care is an impactful opportunity for families and small groups to participate in.
