Our Mission: For 50 years, Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA) has supported senior independence through meals, shelter, education and community. We deliver 130,000 nourishing meals to homebound seniors in Atlanta annually, provide home repair service, manage seven senior centers, an Adult Day Health Center focused on helping seniors and their families manage Alzheimer's and dementia, and a senior companion program. The number of seniors grows daily as does the need for our services.

Outline of Seniors Center Services: MOWA manages seven neighborhood seniors’ centers operating within Fulton County. Seniors age 60 or older are provided transportation to local centers for activities that strengthen, inspire and empower. Last year, 532 seniors attended workshops or trainings that focused on the seven dimensions of wellness activities. Wellness activities includes, but is not limited to, vocational, occupational, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, physical, or environmental activities. In addition, members also participated in Zumba, arts and crafts, dances, plays and senior events. Our meal program is another vital component of the Neighborhood Senior Centers.

Outline of Our Volunteers with Senior Center : Volunteers can join one of our Neighborhood Senior Centers for a day of arts & crafts, Nintendo Wii tournaments, bingo, card games, and indoor baseball. These seniors are a bit more independent, so your team can be flexible as it pertains to the types of activities you want to present. Volunteers should arrive at 10 am and plan to remain until around 2 pm. To ensure a successful experience, volunteers should bring bingo prizes (i.e. soap, mouthwash, and toothpaste).
