The Person Center is a private non-profit organization established to provide charitable, educational, and therapeutic services to the multicultural and multi-ethnic African immigrant communities in the Washington metropolitan area. The Person Center Serves African immigrants from many backgrounds especially African immigrant survivors of violence and war trauma.
The Person Center is searching for dedicated volunteers to serve with us. We are searching for Community Outreach volunteers to help us connect with the diverse African Community.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with the Executive director to assists in the development of annual marketing plan and all appropriate marketing materials, including newsletters, press releases and advertising
- Develops, manages and maintains a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face meetings, cold calling, direct mail, email and networks
- Coordinates special events and open houses for professionals to enhance awareness of TPC in the community
- Be an enthusiastic person with sincere compassion for the African Immigrant population
- Dependable, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong Communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written and ability to build rapport with Domestic violence specific survivors and their families
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, friendly, creative
- Willing to travel in and around the Washington DC area
- No experience necessary, all are welcome
