Recording Artists Development RAD

Review and assess RAD's non-profit organizational structure and business approach. Consult with RAD Board and staff to develop and execute a business and organizational plan. Help develop RAD's Board, Advisory Board, staff, community support and outreach; build a business structure and resources to support RAD's non-profit mission and work. Meet with RAD Board in person, at first, if possible, and consult by phone and internet after that. Knowledge of federal and NYS non-profit law and rules is helpful. Knowledge overall of business development and non-profit organizational structuring and business is helpful. RAD is NYC area-based, but can work virtually with artists. Our work has been consistent and we have met our non-profit mission and beyond out of the love of music and the artists we serve. We need help with development and business and organizational planning for greater success in the future. www.recordingartistsdevelopment.org

Mission Statement

To provide emerging singer-songwriter recording artists with high-quality low-cost recordings of their original music, with career development and artistic support; to create a community of musicians and recording artist; to promote the development of American music and the recording arts in America. Focusing on underserved communities, especially LGBTQIA non-binary artists.

RAD is a unique arts organization that works directly with singer songwriters to arrange, produce, and record their original music or original arrangements of cover songs, and to provide emerging artists with artistic, creative and career support, development and advice. RAD conducts three 10-week workshops a year in which RAD's Producer Phil Carroll works directly in the studio with each artist and the artists come together in group meetings throughout the workshop to hear the songs in progress and to get feedback and support from RAD and from industry guest listeners. At the end of each workshop, the artist has a fully mixed and mastered CD recording of their song(s). RAD showcases the work in a Listening Party after each session. It is a wonderful creative process and one in which the artist learns and grows as an artist and also has a concrete product, their CD recording, to further their career. RAD promotes its artist through its website, facebook pages and performances and showcase events. RAD has auditions and open mic singing contests to find talent.RAD does panel discussions open to the public in which singer songwriters may learn about various issues in the music business and get feedback and exposure for their music. RAD is a small organization that has been serving artists as a non-profit since 2003. RAD has recorded hundreds of songs and worked with many talented singer songwriters in all genres of American popular music.
