ORGANIZATION: Supportive Transitional Emergency Housing Ministry (STEHM)

STEHM is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide long-term transitional housing fostering the goal of independent living through counseling and life skills training in a safe, supportive environment for women and women with children.

STEHM is seeking women who are interested in providing childcare for a small group of children (ages currently vary from 2- 11). The childcare provider would be needed for approximately an hour during workshops that are held on Sundays.

*Please note that workshops are held two Sundays a month however, we are grateful for any contribution of time and will be more than happy to accommodate your availability.

The volunteer will be encouraged to engage with the children through: arts and crafts, board games, assistance with homework, book reading.

*Please note that we are always open to new suggestions for activities!

Caregivers requirements:

  • Must be 16 or older
  • Ability to engage youth
  • Ability to manage a group of at least 6 youth
  • First Aid & CPR skills/certifications are desired but not required.
