Can you share up to two hours a week for 6 months? Do you enjoy doing Arts & Crafts or reading? Are you a certified Pet Therapist? Do you practice Reiki or Aromatherapy? Hospice of Massachusetts is seeking volunteers to become part of a vital team caring for people at the end-of-life. The gift of your time will provide comfort and support for our patients and their families. A comprehensive training program is provided. After completion of the training, volunteers will be assigned to care for hospice patients and will be offered on-going training and support and educational programs for specialized volunteer roles. We are a community-based hospice, providing end-of-life comfort care to patients in any setting that is considered home as well as acute care hospital settings.

Provide respite for primary caregiver Do errands Fix a meal Arts & crafts Play cards/games Gardening Mend, crochet, knit Sit with children Help with photo albums Read current Events from daily newspaper Help with household chores Assist patient in telling family stories on cassette Assist patient in making a personal video for each family member Be a friend Read, sing, pray to or with the patient Delight in hearing stories and memories
