About RECORDING ARTISTS DEVELOPMENT INC

Location:

205 West 20th #5E, NEW YORK, NY 10001, US

Mission Statement

To provide emerging singer-songwriter recording artists with high-quality low-cost recordings of their original music, with career development and artistic support; to create a community of musicians and recording artist; to promote the development of American music and the recording arts in America. Focusing on underserved communities, especially LGBTQIA non-binary artists.

Description

RAD is a unique arts organization that works directly with singer songwriters to arrange, produce, and record their original music or original arrangements of cover songs, and to provide emerging artists with artistic, creative and career support, development and advice. RAD conducts three 10-week workshops a year in which RAD's Producer Phil Carroll and our producer team works directly in the studio with each artist and the artists come together in group meetings throughout the workshop to hear the songs in progress and to get feedback and support from RAD and from industry guest listeners. At the end of each workshop, the artist has a fully mixed and mastered CD recording of their song(s). RAD showcases the work in a Listening Party after each session. It is a wonderful creative process and one in which the artist learns and grows as an artist and also has a concrete product, their CD recording, to further their career. RAD promotes its artist through its website, facebook pages and performances and showcase events. RAD has auditions and open mic singing contests to find talent.RAD does panel discussions open to the public in which singer songwriters may learn about various issues in the music business and get feedback and exposure for their music. RAD is a small organization that has been serving artists as a non-profit since 2003. RAD has recorded hundreds of songs and worked with many talented singer songwriters in all genres of American popular music.
