The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program aims to help low to middle-income families file their taxes for free. A VITA site requires greeters, tax preparers, quality reviewers, and a site coordinator. Training is provided, and Continuing Professional Education Credits are available through the IRS for volunteering with this program.
Volunteers are needed to work at least 4-hour shift per week during the tax season (mid-January through mid-April). Volunteer times and location are flexible. Prior experience not needed and free training provided. http://www.unitedwayofpc.org/VITA
