We raise public awareness of these artists' work and talents by building partnerships with social service agencies, residences and community groups. fresh art is dedicated to promoting art as a tool for personal expression, creative growth and positive transformation.

Description

fresh art's artists reflect a diversity of under-served groups throughout the city. They are seniors, people with mental illness, physical and emotional disabilities,HIV and AIDS,in long term recovery from chemical dependencies, homelessness and low income existences.

fresh art's programs include art exhibitions at venues throughout the city. fresh art also has a Fine Arts and Craft Workshop Program that provides workshops on site at various social service agencies, supportive housing facilities and community groups around the city.

The Sock Monkey Workshops that fresh art offers to homeless shelters and transitional housing facilities provides the participants with an opportunity to create their own sock monkeys.

Sock monkeys made by fresh art's volunteers who meet twice a month at fresh art's office are sold via www.freshartnyc.org and at select craft fairs and boutiques in New York City. The proceeds from these items help support fresh art's programs and services. For further information on our upcoming exhibitions and programs please email the Director: suzanne@freshartnyc.org
