Birthright of Jackson
It is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth, and the right of every child to be born.

We are in great need of additional members to rebuild our Board of Directors.

Board members meet quarterly with additional meetings as needed per fundraising events or other urgent situations. The members provide support to the Executive Director and volunteers to assure the center is functioning in accordance with the overall mission of Birthright. These areas of responsibility include review of operations, recruiting volunteers, promoting and raising awareness of Birthright in the community, and soliciting donors as needed. We need board members who are passionate about helping women and girls who are facing unplanned pregnancies. Birthright board members must agree to read and follow the Birthright Charter and Policy Directives and see that our center operates in accordance with those directives. The Board officer positions are President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.

About Birthright of Jackson

Location:

855 S. Pear Orchard, Suite 203, Ridgeland, MS 39157, US

Mission Statement

Since 1983 Birthright of Jackson has been providing caring, nonjudgmental support to girls and women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy. Often these girls and women seek out Birthright of Jackson to get a free pregnancy test and we discuss the results of that test with only them. We treat each client as an individual who deserves kindness, respect and personal attention to her unique situation and needs. We ask "How can we help you?" We encourage each woman to ask questions to explore her options without pressure or judgment.

Description

We are a crisis pregnancy counseling center. We do not protest, advocate or engage in politicial activities.

Birthright volunteers follow-up with our clients to check on their situation throughout their pregnancy. We lose touch with some of them. Others tell us that because of our concern and counseling they decided to keep their babies. Once their babies are born, we offer our clients diapers and infant clothing.

We also provide our clients with information and referrals to help them meet their legal, medical, financial and housing needs. All Birthright services are free, absolutely confidential, and available to any woman regardless of age, race, creed, religion, economic or marital status.

Our sole focus is on trying to meet the needs of the women that come to us. No matter how difficult these situations seem, Birthright helps each woman plan constructively for her future.
