Brookside Garden's "Garden of Lights" Assistant

Come join us in our Winter Wonderland for this fun display of blooming flowers and wild animals, all done in almost a MILLION twinkling lights! Become a Brookside Gardens Volunteer and support our spectacular annual Garden of Lights Show. Volunteers can work inside our conservatory as Conservatory Docents; walking the grounds and helping visitors as Light Show Monitors; supporting staff in directing incoming visitors into parking spaces as Parking Assistants; or working in our Visitors Center as a Greeter or Visitors Center Monitor. We offer both daytime and evening shifts, during the week and on weekends. After completing training, volunteers will have access to an online calendar and can select shifts.

Evening shifts are:
Monday - Thursday 5:00pm - 9:00pm and
Friday - Sunday 5:00pm - 10:00pm

Daytime Conservatory Docent Shifts are:
10:00am - 1:00pm or
1:00pm - 5:00pm daily.

Description

Our agency is located just north of Washington D.C., and was originally created to protect the stream valleys around the D.C. area. We have grown into a 34,000 acre park system with over 400 local, urban and regional parks; recreation centers; ballfields; playgrounds; nature centers, a botanic garden and over 200 miles of trails.
