If you're interested in Creative Arts, Music, Photography, and/or Drama, consider sharing your talents and interests as a hospice volunteer! Encompass Health-Hospice is seeking innovative people to share their love of the arts by bringing the joy to the bedside of terminally ill patients and their families.
Some of the opportunities available are:
- Memory projects- photography, hand photos, scrap booking, sewing, quilting,
- Art therapy, crafting, card making
- Music- instrumentals both live and/or recorded, vocalist, Threshold Choirs
- Share pre-recorded music from favorite genres and decades
- Story Telling
- Clowning
- Plus many other creative opportunities
New volunteers are mentored by the Volunteer Coordinator until they feel comfortable and confident in providing assistance independently. Volunteers are never expected to assist with the personal care of patients and are assigned based on their interests and what tasks they feel they can easily accomplish.
Our volunteers set their own schedules and we work with you to make the most of your talents and time! If you have a heart for volunteering, please contact us to find out more about this and other volunteer opportunities.

Join the Encompass Health family and become a hospice volunteer!
Encompass is looking for volunteers to provide companionship and support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what type of things you want to do. Here are just a few specific ways hospice volunteers can help: Provide companionship and socialization, help with general office support, play games, read, or listen to music with patients, assist with light house cleaning, walk/care for family pets, create a photo album of patient and family, the opportunities are endless!
