KHKidz (Kasie Helpz Kidz) is a 501 C3 that is dedicated to helping children with cancer and their families. We provide them with emotional support; teddy bears, fun days to get to know others going through similar situations, and counseling. We also provide financial assistance to help with medical expenses such as: doctor copays, medications and travel costs to and from the hospital. We reimburse each family up to $500 per year for financial assistance. While the day-to-day operations are led by the KHKidz Director, Board Members provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. We are adding on a huge new project called Love Helpz Kidz and are looking to also expand our Board of Directors.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about KHKidz mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, legal, clinical, marketing, public relations, finance or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members.

RESPONSIBILITIES of Board Members:
Leadership, governance & oversight: Board members advise the ED as she implements KHKidz’s strategic plan; review outcomes and metrics to help KHKidz evaluate its impact; review agenda and supporting materials prior to Board and committee meetings; approve the annual budget and audit reports; ensure that the agency meets all legal and fiduciary responsibilities; help evaluate and support the ED; assist with ongoing Board recruitment to ensure a diverse and well trained Board; participate in hands-on working committees; and represent KHKidz in the community.
Meetings: Quarterly
Terms: Terms are two years, with approximately half the Board elected each year. Any director may be re-elected for a maximum of three consecutive terms (may be re-elected after absence of at least one year). Officers elected for two years (time as officer not counted in term limits).

AboutWe are looking to expand the size our Board of Directors in order to bolster the skill sets, experience and professions in the boardroom. Drawing from the expertise of its additional members, we hope to achieve better governance,and increase the human and financial resources we have available for achieving our mission.
The role of KHKidz board members is to:
Oversee the financial operations of the organization
Maintain the legal and ethical standing of the organization and its staff
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the organization
Ensure that the organization remains accountable to its donors and to the general public
Help with outreach efforts, including making the public - particularly targeted audiences - aware of KHKidz, the work we do, and our impact
Review the performance of the Founder and Director
Support the self-perpetuation of the Board, by actively recruiting and cultivating new Board Members
Actively secure resources needed to execute the organization's mission
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed
Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector . We especially looking for individuals with a minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Social services program management
International development, especially in community development and/or program management
Organizational development and/or management
Entrepreneurial development
Broad information technology experience, particularly in team and project management
Law (especially non-profit and/or contract law)
Financial Comptroller
Building a startup business
Event planning
Media/public relations
Strategy and planning
Possess strong personal networks and influence within their own community and among our constituency - people who can open doors, attract others to the cause, and serve as ambassadors.
While specific fundraising experience is not required, we are looking for individuals with a proven capacity to mobilize resources
Comfortable with and highly effective at networking with peers
Personal qualities of integrity and credibility
We welcome both experienced and first-time board members.
Candidates do not have to live in a particular part of the US.
Service on KHKidz Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for approved administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to board members' duties.

Mission Statement
Kasie Helpz Kidz is a non-profit organization with a mission aimed at assisting Kidz and their families whom are affected by cancer. Our Kidz range from ages 0-19, and we strive to continuously provide them with a strong support system, as well as their guardians, during and after their courageous battle against cancer. KHKidz focuses on lifting the spirits of those currently undergoing treatments, by providing them with a teddy bear, pizza and a movie night in the hospital. We also have fun events, like bowling or a fashion show, for the patients to spend time with their peers that are going through similar situations. KHKidz Financial Assistance Program was launched in 2013 to assist families with up to $500 per year in reimbursements for co-pays, medications, and counseling services during their child's battle with cancer.
Description
Provide teddy bears to children that are in the hospital or going through cancer treatment.
Have monthly "fun days" for the parents and kidz which consists of a bowling day, movie night, etc.
Hold fundraisers to raise money for financial assistance to help pays for the kidz medical co-pays, medications, and gas expenses.
Hold photoshoot for the family and kidz to create an everlasting memory for the families.
Our number one mission is to make our Kidz days brighter!
