Did you know that less than 50% of the children with mental health conditions receive the services they need? Western Youth Services is changing that. Western Youth Services Fountain Valley clinic is seeking a Bilingual (Vietnamese) Administrative and Interpretation Volunteer. Western Youth Services (WYS) is a nonprofit mental health agency that provides clinical and counseling services to children and their families.
Position: Bilingual Vietnamese Volunteer
Date/Time: Monday and Wednesday after 2pm
Where: 18350 Mt. Langley St. Suite 220 Fountain Valley, CA 92708
Volunteer Duties:
-Interpretation and translation (written and oral) for clients, families, clinicians, psychiatrists and administrative staff.
-Calling Vietnamese speaking clients, greeting Vietnamese speaking clients, translation of documents to Vietnamese
-Reception backup; lobby assistance, setting appointments/reminder calls; answering phones
-Opening, sorting, faxing, and processing mail; filing
-Simple data/entry word processing; photocopying
Volunteer Schedule:
Monday and Wednesday after 2pm
Application Requirements:
Please note that because Administrative Volunteers will be handling confidential information, volunteers will first need to complete a live scan and attend an orientation at our Corporate office in Laguna Hills. We will email volunteer applicants a list of live scan locations and will reimburse all live scan costs.

Description
Western Youth Services (WYS), founded in 1972, is a community-based non-profit agency that provides prevention and mental health treatment services for troubled youth and their families. WYS programs include children's mental health clinics throughout Orange County; services in Family Resource Centers in Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Orange, Westminster and Huntington Beach; and counseling and crisis intervention services for the Orangewood Children's Home, a facility that cares for abused and neglected children. In public-private partnership with the Orange County Health Care Agency and local School Districts, WYS also provides services on-site in public schools throughout the County. WYS employs nearly 200 staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, family counselors, and support personnel. It also serves as a training site for clinical interns. A volunteer Board of Directors comprised of professionals from business, human services, health care, and education governs the agency.
