During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Long after a patient has passed their families still can struggle. Crossroads asks, "How will you give to the Grieving"
Helping families who have lost a loved one and are still grieving or are in need of additional support can be one of the most meaningful gifts a person can give another. At Crossroads Hospice we expect more, give more, and care more about the needs and dignity of our patients and families because we all experience death and dying.
Crossroads Hospice Volunteers team up with our Bereavement Department to help connect to former patient’s families ensuring that they have the emotional support and resources they need. Crossroads volunteers will receive training on how to be an empathetic listener, helpful reference in the field of grief, but most of all a shoulder to cry on. As a volunteer you will gain:
A basic understanding of Greif and how to manage it.
Improved skills in communicating, via phone.
Experiencing the emotions of those with significant loss and helping them find healing.
The feeling and knowledge that you are making a positive impact in the support you provide families.
If you live in the Summit county area, are seeking a volunteer opportunity with flexible hours, and can be the empathetic listener who will help fulfill the Crossroads Promise of expecting more, then contact Crossroads for training to become a valued Bereavement Volunteer at Crossroads providing support to families who have lost a love one and need your help.
