Volunteers are needed to assist in the operation of Brookside Garden's two gift shops-Marylandica I and Marylandica II. Gift shop volunteers will assist in the operation of the shops by answering questions about merchandise, using the cash register, restocking shelves and assisting in keeping shop clean and orderly. They will wrap and bag merchandise and use the credit card machine.

Volunteers are needed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Morning shifts are 10:00 am to 1:00 pm; afternoon shifts are 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Training is provided.

Purchases in the gift shops support the mission of the gardens, many regional small businesses, local artisans and suppliers of products made in the USA.

Our agency is located just north of Washington D.C., and was originally created to protect the stream valleys around the D.C. area. We have grown into a 34,000 acre park system with over 400 local, urban and regional parks; recreation centers; ballfields; playgrounds; nature centers, a botanic garden and over 200 miles of trails.
