We are looking for volunteers who wish to share their love of literacy in their local
community. If you have a passion to help others create a better quality of life, we
want to work with you. Your commitment could help a mom understand her child’s
teacher, or help a father find better work. Don't have experience being a tutor? No
problem! Literacy Connections provides free training! Once you have completed our
covenient, online training, you will be matched with an adult student. Tutors have the option
to provide one on one tutoring or, instruct a small group. Based on your preference,
you can choose to work with English speakers who wish to enhance their reading and
writing abilities, or non-English speakers who want to learn how to read and write in
English. Materials and curriculum are provided, if needed. Volunteer tutoring is
flexible as you can work it around your schedule and that of your student(s). To sign
up, or if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 845-
452-8670.
