Do you love animals? Have a spare room in your home and time to spend with a furry friend? As a pet foster parent you will care for a homeless pet as if he/she was your own until adopted. You will give the pet individualized care and teach socialization skills to ensure they are a well-adjusted pet. You will learn about the pet’s personality, likes, and dislikes so that he/she can be better matched to the right forever home. You will then get to experience the joy of helping a homeless animal find a loving family to spend the rest of their life with.
Pet foster parents provide shelter, food, transportation to and from vet appointments if needed, training, and plenty of love! Veterinary care is paid for by HHAS. You and your foster pet are encouraged to join us at adoption events each weekend to promote the adoption of your foster pet. Adoption events are held at Petsmart, 9869 S Eastern Av, in the Target shopping center. We are looking for volunteers who will stay and help watch over the pets during adoption hours, 11 am to 4 pm Saturday and/or Sunday.
Every cat or dog you foster allows us to rescue another, ending needless suffering of homeless animals and reducing euthanasia. To apply to be a pet foster parent, please complete the application at www.happyhomeanimalsanctuary.org/foster-home-volunteer-application/. After we receive it, someone will contact you.
