Thank you for considering volunteering with Alacare!
Our Visiting/Companionship Volunteers are trained to go into hospice patient home settings and read, gather life stories, perform memory projects and much more. Companionship volunteers can paint nails, play games, listen, watch tv, or talk about sports or interests! Visiting/Companionship Volunteers also can make deliveries for birthdays, special occasions, holidays, and more. This is a great way to get to know the people in your community and actively meet the needs of those around you.
All required training is covered by Alacare including basic Alacare training, a drug screen, background check, 2 step TB skin test and Hep. B vaccine. This volunteer will be mentored by the volunteer and community relations coordinator until comfortable and confident to be independent.
If you are interested in this volunteer position, please email us today!

Mission Statement
At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, we believe hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care. Our goal is to bring dignity and comfort home by offering compassionate care to patients and their families during the final stages of life.
Description
Enhabit is looking for direct patient and administrative volunteers to provide support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much time and what types of things you want to do.
A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
