CAT CARETAKING PROGRAM
Morning Shifts: Monday, Tuesday and Sunday
Evening Shifts: Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
We have an immediate need for caretakers for our adoptable cats on various mornings AND nights at the Downey PETCO. This volunteer activity involves feeding, cleaning cages and socializing (petting and playing with!) the cats during their recreation time. They will look forward to your visits, and we think you will too. Cat caretaking requires about an hour to two hours per shift. You can choose one or more weekly shifts. Training is provided, we ask only that you be reliable and love felines.
Pet Assistance Foundation has been active in humane work for over 64 years. We take in owner relinquished, orphaned and abandoned pets, provide any and all medical care they need, then work together to get them healthy, happy, friendly, and ready to start their new lives. You will be part of our team, helping prepare the kitties for that wonderful moment when we find them a pet parent with a lifetime of love to give. It’s huge! Come join our group of dedicated, caring people who know beyond any doubt they are making a difference and saving lives. All it takes is a few hours a week!
To get started, please email us at email@example.com, with "Cat Caretaker" in the subject line, and INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER, or call our office at 310-732-1230. Call or write today - the volunteers and especially the pets, NEED YOU!

About Pet Assistance Foundation
555 East Artesia Blvd. #B, head office, Long Beach, CA 90805, US
Pet Assistance Foundation was founded in 1955 to help stop the suffering of animals caused by pet overpopulation and to promote spay/neuter efforts throughout Southern California. We do this through education and financial subsidy to low income pet owners. We also support animal rights legislation. We are supportive of other animal welfare groups and work with them to improve the lives of animals, their owners and the community.
PLEASE SEND US YOUR PHONE NUMBER, SO WE MAY CONTACT YOU TO SPEED UP THE APPLICATION PROCESS.
Pet Assistance Foundation has nine branches in communities through Southern California, including contract branches in Victorville and San Diego. We have a toll free hotline that we advertise online, by brochure and through yellow page directories. Our hotline is for pet owners who are very low income to call if they need help to spay or neuter their pets. Volunteers who work on the hotline return calls, determine the financial needs of the pet owner and make a donation towards the surgery if warranted. We then assist in finding a good low cost vet in their area that takes our donation pledge. We also are a referral service for people who need help in finding a good vet for spay/neuter and other needs. We often in assist in calls that have nothing to do with fixing a pet. Some of our branches do garage sales to raise money for medical emergency calls. Our volunteers help find good vets in their area that will lower their prices for our referrals and take our subsidies. Our Long Beach branch does adoption and rescue of cats and dogs; they hold adoption events every weekend. They have people who foster the animals and help with daily care.
We'll work with your schedule.
