Seeking Thanksgiving Dinner Basket Donations for YWCA Shelters

When you think Thanksgiving- you probably think turkey, stuffing, and family!!! And while most have lots of food on the table for Thanksgiving, many do not. But we want the kids growing up in our homeless shelters to have those same memories, so we'll provide the meal ingredients to help make them!

These baskets are for our homeless shelters and support programs, which do have fridges and cooking facilities. To supply all families in all our programs we need about 1000 baskets, so anything you can do is of great help. We will provide a list of basket ingredients, which will cost between $75-100. Think it over and if you are ready to commit, email me with your contact information, and the number of baskets you are willing to do.

I will then assign you a family and give you a little information on them to help you shop. We want every basket to have all items on the list as the minimum, but you can always do more if you like. Every family can benefit from little extras like paper towels or laundry detergent.

The baskets are to be delivered on Tuesday 11/22nd between 8am and 2pm at our location on East Cherry Street, Seattle, WA. Please let me know if you have any questions, and when you are ready to get your assignment, shoot me an email. You are not signed up until you get your assignment.

If you are too busy to shop, please drop off or send us local grocery store gift cards and we’ll do the shopping for you! Please send any gift cards to YWCA c/o Nichell Hilton, 2820 East Cherry Street, Seattle 98112. We’ll make sure 100% of your donation goes to buying food for Thanksgiving!
