Tabling Events Volunteer


Position Location:
PAL Offices, various locations.

Supervisor: Resource Director

Time Commitment: Volunteer must commit to at least one four hour shift a month.


Goals / Objectives:

None of the work PAL does would be possible without funds. All of our funds are donations by businesses and individuals and many of them are gathered at tabling events where we promote who we are, what we do, and why people should help. Tabling events are also critical to marketing PAL’s message and support to the public. Tabling events are at larger chain stores, events and local pet supply and feed stores. Successful tabling volunteers enjoy connecting with people, have friendly personalities, and can talk to a wide variety of people with ease and respect.

Duties/responsibilities:

  • Table set up and break down
  • Distribute PAL brochures
  • Collect pet food and monetary donations
  • Encourage people to sign up for email list
  • Engage people in conversation to inform them about PAL's mission and programs
  • Represent PAL as an ambassador

Work Environment:

  • Able to work at least one four-hour shift per month
  • Lift up to 20 pounds on occasion
  • Some lifting and bending; full range of motion in lower and upper extremities and use of back

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good customer relation skills

Training Requirements

  • Must attend Volunteer Orientation
  • Complete informal training given by Resource Director

Work Shifts

  • Varies but will be 3-4 hour shifts generally on the weekend and evenings
