Kaiser Permanente Hospice volunteers provide support to families and patients in the Gresham, Sandy, or Estacada area. Your service will have a profound impact at a time with a person is nearing the end of their life, when heartfelt one-on-one care is crucial.
Kaiser Hospice volunteers assist family caregivers up to 4 hours/week who are caring for a terminally ill loved one in their home. Volunteers keep patients safe and comfortable in the patient's home, while the family caregiver takes a break.
Volunteers may be asked to help with one or more of the following: spend time with patients and their families, offering support and encouragement; assist the patient/family in carrying out errands; assist hospice families with light household tasks; assist patients with their memoirs, write letters, share a good book or movie. Arrange your own visit schedule in consultation with the hospice patient.
Call us today to ask questions. Volunteer trainings will be held in Winter, Spring and Fall, 2024.

Mission Statement
Kaiser Permanente Hospice provides compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care at the end of life. The focus of care is to promote quality of life, ease suffering, honor dignity, respect choices and support grieving. Hospice is a supportive approach to end-of-life care that emphasizes control of pain and other symptoms, as well as providing emotional, spiritual and psychological support to enable patients to spend their remaining life in dignity and comfort. Our staff work closely with the attending physicians, family, and loved ones to ensure that the patient's community needs are met. Hospice services are provided in the patient's home, regardless of location. It may be a private residence, an assisted living community, an adult care home or a residential or intermediate care community. We are honored to be invited to your patient's home at such a sacred time. We will do all we can to help the patients and family make the most of every day.
