ORGANIZATION: HCA Houston Hospice & Family Care

Volunteers with a strong sense of compassion are sought in all parts of Houston and surrounding areas to help meet the following needs of terminally ill patients in hospice care. Volunteers can spend time with patients in their home or facility or wherever they call home by:

  • Reading to them
  • Sharing music
  • Listening to their concerns
  • Holding their hand
  • Offering tender companionship
  • Helping them feel loved

Volunteers can also help families by spending time with the patient in order for caregivers to:

  • Take a much needed nap
  • Go grocery shopping,
  • Get a haircut or pamper themselves
  • Attend a church service
  • Or just take care of personal business
