Mission Statement
Servant's Heart Ministry provides weekly food support boxes to families in need with a focus on the most vulnerable in our community, children and seniors, as well as disabled and homebound. We believe a bag a food should come with a personalized encounter, which is why we have established a community partner network to help us achieve this mission.
Description
Servant's Heart Ministry is a private charity founded in 1999. It received 501C(3) status in 2002. It is operated by volunteers and funded by private donations. Its purpose is to offer hunger solutions to meet basic needs with a focus on households where children and seniors are at risk of hunger.
Community Partners identify the need and invite the head of the household to apply for food assistance. Upon approval, Community Partners deliver weekly groceries to the family all the while encouraging the family to walk in Truth and accountability. Families are asked to set a goal and then advised to use the service to recover their independence as quickly as possible.
Good nutrition is key to overall household stability. Financially struggling parents are relieved from the stress of providing, nourished children maintain good health and perform better academically. Seniors are better able to cope with a meager income.
