About

200 Orphanages seeks volunteers to work with our Minnesota Fund Raising Director to help organize and mobilize donors and supporters in and around Fridley Minnesota. Volunteers will serve on fundraising committee for an annual Dancing Hand in Hand Event in the Fall of 2018. The volunteers will help raise awareness and funds for building projects to better serve orphans.

Our organization's mission is to help provide safety, shelter and sustainability for orphans. We do that by mobilizing volunteers who adopt a project of one of our partners and organize an event with friends, family and colleagues to raise funds toward the project. Any amount raised is welcome. Donations are made directly to 200 Orphanages and are tax deductible.

Current projects include an orphanage in India, Haiti, Tanzania, Myanmar, and Guatemala.

Volunteers will assist in planning and mobilizing for fund raising events with a volunteer committee. A Kick off planning meeting will be held in February 2018. Past fund raisers have raised $20,000 or more. Funds will be distributed to the designated project in India.

Qualifications include having a large, local friend, family and co worker network. Also required is experience asking for silent auction items and donations for orphan care projects.

Time required to volunteer effectively is at least 5 hours a week. A 3-6 month commitment is best. Experience planning events, organizing volunteers, creating excitement with dynamic event marketing. Social media expertise and written and oral communications skills.
