200 Orphanages seeks volunteer to help our development director organize and mobilze events in Washington State, Minnesota or Arizona that will help raise awareness and funds for building projects to better serve orphans.
Our organization's mission is to help provide safety, shelter and sustainability for orphans. We do that by mobiliizing volunteers who adopt a project of one of our partners and organize an event with friends, family and colleagues to raise funds toward the project. Any amount raised is welcome. Donations are made directly to 200 Orphanages and are tax deductible.
Current projects include an orphanage in Burundi Africa, a well and generator in Neply Haiti, a dormitory in Myanmar, and a remodel of a dormitory in Guatemala.
Volunteers will assist in planning and mobilizing for fund raising events with a volunteer committee. Events can be held any date or time throughout the year. Seasonal events are welcome including Halloween, Thanksgiving and Hannukah or Christmas. Planning should begin at least 2-3 months before event in time to find a venue, choose a project and organize a committee.
The ideal fund raiser will raise a minimum of $2,000-$15,000. These funds will be distributed to the designated project.
Qualifications include a local friend and family and co worker network. Time required to volunteer effectively is at least 5 hours a week. A 3-6 month commitment is best. Experience planning events, organizing volunteers, creating excitement with dynamic event marketing. Social media expertise and written and oral communications skills.
