About

We are a collaborative Catholic women’s volunteer program established by three Benedictine communities in North and South Dakota. Our vision is to inspire a spirit of service and discernment by which each volunteer fully realizes the unique call God has placed in her heart to joyfully animate the world with God’s love, compassion, and justice.

Benedictine volunteers are given a wide variety of opportunities to serve the world and discern their life's purpose. Volunteer opportunities are individually matched to each woman’s gifts and unique desires to serve. During their time of service, volunteers live, eat, pray, play, and work hand-in-hand with the Sisters in furthering the mission of 3 Benedicitne communities in North and South Dakota.

Opportunities vary year-round and include a broad range of opporunities, including: ministry to the elderly, history and archives, administrative assistnace, beauty and hair care, environmental work and gardening, community organizing and outreach, cooking and baking, ecumenical work, hospitality ministry, health care, hospital and hospice ministry, nursing, liturgy and music ministry, retreat work, multicultural ministry, teaching (pre-school, elementary, middle), teaching English and Spanish as a second language, immigration ministry, Native American ministry, photography, physical therapy and recreation, poverty alleviation, prison ministry, religious education and CCD programs, sacristry work, social services ministry, library work, and many more!

Consider becoming a Benedicitne volununteer in two ways:

  • Benedicine Volunteer: serve the Church and world in a variety of ministries that utlize and nurture your uniquely God-given gifts
  • Life-Planning Volunteer Intern: incoporate volunteer service into your academic and career-planning journey
